Professional Background

David Chewey started his first landscape company at the young age of 15 when he fell in love with the exterior environment. He has since graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and is a licensed Landscape Architect in the states of Virginia and New Jersey. David founded his first award-winning design firm in New Jersey soon after graduating as a creative outlet for his passion for the built environment. Today, David brings his passion for landscape architecture and his unique ability to listen and create to bring a client's vision to life. His experience lies in residential garden master planning along with creating some of the finest gardens for commercial and educational campuses. David has a unique passion for green roofs and sustainable design. This is exceptionally important here in the Tidewater region of Virginia, where he is certified as a Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional.

Community Involvement

In 2007, as David’s involvement in the community increased, he created The Garden Beautiful Foundation. This is the charitable arm that allows David to provide design services as well as, expose and educate the community about Landscape Architecture, sustainability, and a greener environment. Through this charity, he has donated his service and resources to numerous Eagle projects for Boy Scouts of America, renovations for local parks, therapeutic gardens for schools for children with disabilities, recreation areas for adult living facilities, to name a few. David’s commitment to being involved in the community goes far beyond his passion for Landscape Architecture. He served as a Cub Master for five years, numerous St. Catherine of Sienna and Church of the Holy Family ministries and has taught a quarterly course at a High School level on Entrepreneurship. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of Helyar House at Rutgers University.
